Our wedding day

We got married on Saturday 24 March 2007 in Wellington, New Zealand. Here are some photos of our most wonderful day so you can share it with us.

On the right hand side of this screen is a series of postings, but not all them will be able to be seen at once, so either navigate to each posting by clicking on the title in the right hand side of the screen, or click on "Older postings" at the very bottom of this screen.

Getting ready - part 1

I got ready at the apartment my 3 cousins, Amy, Sarah, and Danielle, live in so that Jack could get ready in peace and quiet, and so that Guy could get in a good sleep before the busy afternoon ahead. It was lots of fun at the apartment, I was joined by my good friend Diane who had come over from London to celebrate our wedding with us, and Krista, my sister-in-law-to-be who was our photographer for the day.

I had lots of help from the girls to get ready. Amy and Danielle did a tag team approach to do my make up and nails, and then it was a whole team effort to get my into my dress and ensure it was stuck down in all the right places.

First was a hand treatment

Then the French manicure

We had lots of fun too

Then came the serious stuff when make up artist extraordinaire Danielle got busy

In between all this activity, there was time for chilling out too . . .

And for Krista to paint her toenails

Getting ready - part 2

Once all the girly preparations were complete, it was time to crack open the bubbly and have bit of a sit down before the afternoon's excitement began.

This was my lovely bridal lingerie. After having a baby and having a fitting dress, a girl needs a bit of help in the undergarment department!

The morning's efforts deserved a glass of bubbles. Especially my effort after getting into that undergarment - phew, it was hot work!

Amy is dressed for the occasion, accessorised with a fetching plastic apron and hairnet.

The last supper (well lunch actually) and seeing as my intake at the reception was just 2 pieces of sushi and 1 piece of divine wedding cake, I am pleased I managed to at least get a sandwich to keep me going.

And a fortifying swig of bubbly as I contemplate my last hour as an unmarried woman.

Walking up the hill

Our wedding day was one of Wellington's finest. It was warm, sunny and only a light wind. We were married at the Massey Memorial, one of the most beautiful and best kept secrets in Wellington. The only drawback is the walk up there, about 5 minutes up a track. There was no way I was even going to contemplate walking up there in my wedding shoes, so we had a brief pause for final readiness at the top.

Now that's a classy look, Katrina!

A quick change at the top . . .

Walking over to take up our positions . . .

And I think I'm ready to go, nerves only just now making themselves aparent!

Walking in with Dad

As we walked in, we were hoping all our practising the day before was successful, we couldn't hear the music, so had to rely on a series of signals between Lisa, Ed and Jack as to when to set off, and try not to walk too fast. I was so busy trying to remain upright on my spindly heels that slowly was the only option for making our way up to where my groom waited.

Usually the guests arrive before the bride. . .

The ceremony - part 1

How were we feeling? Nervous and obviously very thoughtful!

Pledging our troth

Katrina is carrying around a bit more bling now!

You may kiss your bride!

The ceremony - part 2

Jack's brother Roger read an extract from The Prophet

Katrina's friend read "Love Changes Everything"

Guy joined in the ceremony, and he was such a good boy throughout

Amy did a brilliant job of being baby-wrangler. The poor girl was exhausted after entertaining a busy 14 mth old the whole afternoon. Many thanks to you once again Amy for your assistance.
